For Dasha

This is a little homage to Dasha (*GreenMandarine) who won my contest with her awesome drawing.



Since she didn't go too surreal I figured out I could at least attempt to imitate it This is the best that my lab mate Kate and I could stage. We had several limitations, like: we don't have white shiny countertops, we couldn't get vinyl or latex gloves as the store was closed at the time we took the photo, and one of the tubes she drew has a top which is like a vial but a vial is just too small, so I took the freedom of replacing it with a graduated cylinder. The yellow pigment is a yellow perylene-derivative, the green thing is pH 7 standard solution, and the blue one is acidified crystal violet solution.

So, remember: this photo is NOT the reference for Dasha's drawing. It is actually the other way around; the drawing is the reference for the photo... when was the last time such a thing happened??
